Obstholz, gefasst und vergoldet, Saiten und Beschläge. John Egan war ein irischer Musikinstrumentenbauer, der als der Vater der modernen irischen Harfe gilt. Er war zwischen 1804 und 1830 tätig und begann zunächst mit der Perfektionierung der großformatigen europäischen Pedalharfe, von der das vorliegende Stück ein schönes Beispiel ist. Dann wandte Egan seine Aufmerksamkeit der Innovation der modernen Harfe zu und erfand schließlich die tragbare irische Harfe, von der sich Beispiele in der Royal Collection, London und im Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York, befinden. Fassung teilweise schadhaft, nicht auf Funktionsfähigkeit geprüft.
