Fein ausgeführter Bronzeguss, mit Gold- und Doppelpatina. Das Gipsmodell „Androméde“ für die Ausführung in Stein (100 x 45 x 53 cm) befindet sich im Musée d‘Art d‘Archéologie et de Sciences Naturelles in Troyes. Andromeda wurde gemäß der griechischen Mythologie an einen Meeresfelsen angekettet, um einem Meeresungeheuer geopfert zu werden, bis Perseus sie befreite.
Franceschi war Schüler von François Rude (1784-1855), debütierte im Salon 1848, wurde vor allem für seine Portraitbüsten, wie etwa für Jacques Offenbach oder Charles Gounod berühmt. 1874 mit dem Kreuz der Ehrenlegion ausgezeichnet. A.R. (1401585) (11)
