Otto Pippel gilt als einer der bedeutendsten späten Impressionisten im süddeutschen Raum. Er studierte 1905 in Karlsruhe und vollendete seine Ausbildung bei Gotthard Johann Kühl (1850-1915) an der Dresdner Akademie. Prägend für sein weiteres Schaffen war ein Aufenthalt in Paris 1905, bei dem er die französischen Impressionisten kennenlernte. Nach 1918 lebte und arbeitete er in Planegg und malte dabei vielfältige Landschaften, Stillleben und Stadtveduten in impressionistischer Manier. (1400451) (13)
