Die beiden schlank-hochformatigen, oben rund geschlossenen Tafelbilder dürften aus einem mehrteiligen Altarzusammenhang stammen. Dabei ist der rundbogige Abschluss im Kunstraum in dieser Zeit öfter zu finden. Das hochgestreckte Format erlaubt neben der unteren Hauptszene weitere Erzählungen im oberen Teil.
Rätselhaft ist die nächtliche Darstellung eines brennenden Gebäudes oberhalb der Anbetungsszene, daneben Josef, der eine Kerze hält.
