Repräsentatives Kamingehäuse

In römischem Travertin gefertigt in architektonisch symmetrischer Gliederung mit von Volutenreliefs und zentralem Maskaron übergangenem Mittelportal, dessen Seitenwände von vorgelagerten kannelierten Säulen begleitet werden, denen jeweils eine weibliche allegorische Figur mit Musikinstrument vorgestellt ist, deren eine Hand jeweils eines der Akanthuskapitelle trägt. Überkragende den Zügen des Möbels folgende Deckplatte. Aufgrund des allegorischen Gehaltes ist eine ursprüngliche Verwendung in einem herrschaftlichen Musikzimmer zu erwägen. (1401362) (13)

Roman travertine. Architecturally symmetrical structure featuring a central fireplace arch surmounted by central mascaron with a surround of volute reliefs, the side walls accompanied by fluted columns. In front of each of the columns a female allegorical figure is shown holding a musical instrument in one hand, while the other supports one of the capitals decorated with acanthus leaves.
