Vor dunklem Grund die Darstellung der Figuren, eine junge Dame mit Perlschmuck, wohl als Kleopatra identifizierbar, mit dahinter sichtbarem, in eine Richtung weisendem bärtigem Mann. Vor ihr eine Dienerfigur beim Heranbringen weiterer Geschmeide.
Der Maler war Schüler des Antonio Balestra (1666-1740) und widmete sich hauptsächlich religiösen Motiven, mit wenigen Ausnahmen. Überlieferungsgemäß soll Kaiser Joseph II nach seinem Besuch Veronas diesen Künstler den ersten Maler Europas genannt haben. (14007612) (13)
