Von zahlreichen Gondeln und Booten belebter Canal Grande, in dem sich die anliegenden Bauten widerspiegeln. Besonderer Bedeutung kommt in der hier angebotenen Komposition dem Palazzo Corner zu, der von Jacopo Sansovino geplant wurde, nachdem der Vorgängerbau 1532 einem Brand zum Opfer gefallen ist.
Zwischen 1851 und 1888 in Venedig tätig. Der Maler wurde aufgrund seiner beliebten und qualitätvollen Bilder der „Canaletto des 19. Jahrhunderts“ genannt. (1400291) (13)
