Das Kaufhaus S. Daniel in der Lebacher Innenstadt galt zu Beginn des 20. Jahrhunderts als eines der florierendsten Geschäfte im Ort. Die engagierte Chefin des Hauses hieß Emma Stern, Tochter der jüdischen Kaufmannsfamilie Daniel aus St. Wendel und Mitbegründerin der Lebacher Zweigstelle. Stern emigrierte 1935 nach Paris. Die Künstlerin begann erst 1948 zu malen. In ihrer neuen Heimat wurde sie als Malerin berühmt. In ihrer alten Heimat erinnert seit 2004 eine Straße an sie.
