Biblische Darstellung der Geburt Christi in Bethlehem, hier in eine antike Ruinenarchitektur versetzt. Die vor dem Kind rechts kniende Maria hebt ein dunkles Tuch hoch, um das Kind dem es anbetenden Joseph zu zeigen. Im Hintergrund zwei herbeikommende Hirten, rechts ein Engelsputto mit gefalteten Händen, dieser das Kind ebenfalls anbetend. Zwischen den Säulen Ausblick in hügelige Landschaft mit Gebäuden. Am Oberrand öffnet sich die dunkle Wolkendecke zu einer lichten Himmelszone mit Engeln. Rotulus, dieser beschriftet "gloria in excelsis deo" (Ruhm sei Gott in der Höhe). (10417592) (11)
