Mit in der Bronze eingegossener Aufschrift „cire perdu (nach verlorener Form)“.
An der Rückseite überhalb der Datierung die Ortsbezeichnung „Paris“.

Der Künstler war ein Schüler von Auguste Rodin. Werke von seiner Hand, insbesondere Ludwig van Beethoven oder Richard Wagner, sind bekannt geworden. Seine Portraitbüste von Victor Hugo befindet sich im Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Der Bildhauer erhielt den großen Nationalpreis für Skulpturen der Galleria Brera. Seine Werke wurden mehrfach in den Salons der Artistes Francais, The Tuileries sowie im Salon d´Automne ausgestellt. Pina gehörte zum Zirkel der Künstler des Montparnasse und stelle auch noch nach dem Weltkrieg im Salon des Independants aus. Seine Werke häufig gegossen in der bekannten Fonderie Valsuani, Paris. Das Schreibzeug in Form einer weiten, gemuldeten Bronzeschale mit unregelmäßigem Umriss. An der hinteren Erhöhung eine nackte Männerfigur liegend, mit angewinkeltem linken Arm, der rechte Arm am Muldenrand liegend. Rechts vorne eine weitere, kleiner gestaltete, kauernde Figur liegend. Das Bronzebildwerk auf grün gesprenkelter, querrechteckiger Marmorplatte. (1012133)

Signed and dated "1922".
With inclusively cast inscription "cire perdu (lost wax casting)". On the reverse, above the date, place name "Paris".
