Großes Reliefbild mit Darstellung der Flucht nach Ägypten. Das Relief in steinartiger Stuckmasse gearbeitet, im Querrechteck. Im Zentrum die Darstellung Marias auf einem Esel nach rechts ziehend, das Kind mit beiden Händen festhaltend, das zudem in einem Tragetuch festgebunden ist, das über die rechte Schulter der Maria zieht. Die Köpfe von Mutter und Kind eng aneinander geführt, die Beinchen des Kindes gespreizt, sodass der rechte Fuß über dem Handgelenk der Maria hochsteht. Links nachfolgend der Heilige Josef mit einem geschulterten Wanderstock, die rechte Hand auf die Backe des Esels gelegt. Rechts im Bild eine Baumgruppe, deren Kronen in wulstigen, weichen Formen die obere rechte Ecke füllen. Im unteren Teil ein Begleithund. Die Körper- und Gewandformen weich modelliert, im Hochrelief gearbeitet mit noch teilweise alter Fassung. Der Reliefstil steht dem Relief des Jacopo della Quercia "Geburt Christi" nahe, das sich im Portal der Kirche San Petronio in Bologna befindet. Gerahmt. (9523417)
