Geschnittenes, farbloses und roséfarbenes Glas, teils satiniert und geätzt. Der Fuß in Schmiedeeisen und mit drei Kameen verziert. Elektrifiziert.
Insgesamt in sehr schönem Zustand mit leichten Alterssp.
Anmerkung:
Der Name Charder setzt sich zusammen aus Namensbestandteilen von Charles Schneider. Charder war eine Zweiglinie der Schneider Glasfabrikanten und bestand von 1918 bis 1939. Gelernt hatten Charles und sein Bruder Ernest Schneider bei Daume und waren damit eine Generation jünger als Emile Gallé und die Brüder Daume. 1912 verließen sie Daume und gründeten nördlich von Paris Schneider Frères et Wolf. Bis zu Beginn des Ersten Weltkriegs waren die Brüder vor allem auf Kamee-Glasarbeiten spezialisiert und mussten nach Ende des Krieges Teile der Firma verkaufen, die sie jedoch etwas später erfolgreich zurückgewinnen konnten. Elegant, pink-coloured table lamp by Charder
Height: 58 cm.
Diameter: 27 cm.
Signed “Charder“ at the crown of the lamp shade and on one cameo on the foot.
France, 1st half of the 20th century.
Cut, clear and pink-coloured glass, partly with satin finish and etched. Wrought iron foot decorated with three camels. Electrified. In very good overall condition with minor signs of ageing.
Notes:
The name Charder is made up from the name Charles Schneider. Charder was a side-line business of the Schneider glass manufacturers and existed between 1918 and 1939. Charles and his brother Ernest Schneider had trained with Daume and were therefore a generation younger than Emile Gallé and the Daume brothers. They left Daume in 1912 and founded 'Schneider Frères et Wolff' north of Paris. Until the beginning WW1 the brothers mostly specialised in cameo and glass works and had to sell shares of the company after the end of the War, which they were later able to rebuy.
