Seltenes Thema mit der Darstellung des Philosophen Apollonios von Tyana (um 40-120 n. Chr.), der von einem Mann namens Jarchas in Indien sieben Ringe erhalten habe, welche die Namen von sieben Planeten trügen, die er abwechselnd entsprechend der Wochentage trug. Sollte die Geschichte stimmen, wäre dies ein sehr früher Nachweis der Siebenplanetenwoche in Indien. Rest.
Liberi war bereits in frühen Jahren Schüler des Alessandro Varotari (1588-1649). Auftragsreisen führten ihn u. a. nach Konstantinopel und Tunis. 1638 traf er in Rom ein, um sich dort von den großen Werken Michelangelos (1475-1564), Raffaello Santis (1483-1520), Annibale Carraccis (1560-1609) und Pietro da Cortonas (1596-1669) beeinflussen zu lassen. Mit dem bedeutenden Bildhauer Giovanni Lorenzo Bernini (1598-1680) kam er in engeren Kontakt. Um 1643, zurück in Venedig, entstanden in der Folge zahlreiche Fresken in Schlössern, Villen und venezianischen Kirchen, Werke, von denen etliche in öffentlichen bedeutenden Sammlungen wie in die Eremitage, Sankt Petersburg, oder ins British Museum, London, gelangt sind. Sein Malstil insgesamt bezeichnet die klassizistische Prägung des Hochbarock, wobei seine oft gezeigte Vorliebe für Nacktheit ihm den Spitznamen Il Libertino eintrug. (1250147) (13)
